Intermittent Fevers - with Javier Ruiz

HD video performance, 31 min., stereo sound, 2023.

Intermittent Fevers is an experimental video-performance that intertwines scenes shot in Tuscany and the Netherlands to examine pharmaco-colonial entanglements between the Netherlands, Indonesia, and Fascist Italy. Presented as a live performance, two performers narrate moments from the film, prompting the audience to reflect on who tells history and on the porous boundaries between what exists inside and outside the screen. The projects  was accompanied by a publication edited by Javier Ruiz del Río and Federico Pozuelo in a dialogue with fellow artists like Isadora Neves Marques (Portugal), Juan Arturo García (Mexico), and the art historian Alessandra Franetovich

(Italy).

The piece was presented at Ventilator Cinema (Amsterdam) in collaboration with the Institute of Network Cultures, with the support of the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts (AFK) and Stichting Prom.
