Unreliable Object
Quadraphonic sound, 31 minutes, 2023-2025.
Unreliable Object is a radio drama written by Federico Pozuelo and sound‑designed by Tommaso Massimiliano Alfi. Drawing on an acousmatic approach inspired by classic radio theater, it explores how we perceive objects, environments, and bodies. Set on the Italian–Swiss border, the story blends love, smuggling, and science fiction, using giallo and thriller tropes to explore how a purely sonic experience, deprived of other senses, constructs our perception of realit through culturally informed imagination.
Narrated by Francesca Flora, the first iteration was produced by Giulietta Basel and curated by Ambra Viviani for Otter Holding Hands, hosted by Lumpen Station. In 2025, the second iteration was presented at the Swiss Institute in Rome as part of the show "Agg vist nu rummore" (I saw a noise), curated by Ambra Viviani.
